Sunday, November 20, 2016 Fairview celebrated our 63rd anniversary.
“Wednesday night, September 9, 1953 at eight o’clock the following believers met at the Fairview church for the purpose of drawing up plans, preparatory to the organization of a local church. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. William F Patterson; Mr. and Mrs. Will H Patterson; Mr. and Mrs. John Patterson; and Rev. and Mrs. Charles W Shock. After a season of prayer, Rev. Shock read from Acts 2:41-47, after which he called the meeting to order. A motion was made that the proposed church be named Fairview Baptist Church.”
“On November 22, during the Sunday morning worship service at the Fairview church, those desiring to be charter members of the Fairview Baptist Church, whose names are listed on the first page of the chronological membership roll; each one having previously professed salvation and baptism by immersion; gathered together at the front of the church, joining hands in fellowship, desiring to be recognized as members of the Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. Shock gave the consecration prayer.”
For the past 63 years, our ministry has grown with the establishment of the Fairview Christian Academy, Spanish Ministry and Camp Fairview. The Lord has blessed us from the beginning and we look forward to the next 63 years serving the Lord!
“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
