Special members of the community were honored guests at our Appreciation Day this morning. The days after the tornado hit, God blessed us with help and outreach from members of our community and its certainly been an encouragement to our hearts!
For all of those who came out to help, we just want to say thank you!
We have learned a lot of lessons through this. One lesson we learned is that it was all just "stuff". There was no loss of life and we could had been having funerals. But, we learned the value of life itself. Something else very important we learned is that the church is not a building. We've got a lot of work to do and we are praying for wisdom. 2017 is going to be a great building year for His people. We're building lives and building people. We are going to build it God's way and look forward with anticipation with to what God has for us.
Fairview Baptist Church welcomes you to join us tonight as we hold our Vision Banquet. At 6:00 pm we will have a reflection of 2016 and revealing of our 2017 vision.
"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish." (Psalms 1:1-6)
