Family Conference continues this evening at Fairview Baptist Church. It was such a blessing to gather at the Lord's house on Monday night. We still have two more nights of the conference, so don't miss this wonderful opportunity to build your relationship with God and your family.
Have you ever thought of the things that bother you most? What are some of those things that get under your skin? Take a moment to think, and then realize, the things that some times bother us the most, are the things that are most like us. Tonight Pastor Lewis had us take a look at ourselves and our pride.
When we let our pride get in the way, we will never be satisfied. First, do you have the "I've got this" attitude? When you begin to have an indifference toward God, you've let your pride get in the way. "Whatever". Do you hear your children or even spouse say this word? Its a common thing to hear now in any argument. When you have the "whatever" attitude, you've also got a disregard for God's instruction. What you are saying in essence is "your viewpoint has no merit, it means absolutely nothing to me", which in turn means, "you mean absolutely nothing to me." Finally, don't let your pride lead towards a resentment of accountability. Be accountable for Gods instructions and be willing to set the pride of the world aside.
"But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense." 2 Chronicles 26:16
