God's greatest gift is the gift of salvation. Thinking back, do you remember the day you knew you needed to be saved and receive Jesus Christ as personal Saviour? On that day of salvation, you were saved eternally. Not by works, but only by God's grace are we saved. If our salvation was provided any other way, when Jesus died on the cross, it would have been in vain. For God's grace is eternal, free and sovereign.
If we aren't eternally saved, by what works, how much or done what are we saved? There is no measure of sin for the Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." When you were saved, God wrapped you up and has you in His hands. Also, how would you put a price on salvation? What was it worth? Finally, through God's sovereign grace, you will never be turned away. God's grace always shines bright against the darkness of men's unworthiness!
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16
